To Empower over 1000 girls affected by FGM in Kuria region, Kenya by Ggee foundation.
What we do:
At Ggee Foundation, we understand that menstruation is not just a biological process but a crucial aspect of a girl’s life that can significantly impact her education, well-being, and future opportunities. Our primary focus is to ensure that no girl is held back due to lack of access to menstrual care essentials. By providing menstrual care services to 1700 girls, we strive to empower them to stay in school, break free from harmful practices such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), and build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
Our Menstrual Care Program:
The Menstrual Care Program at The Ggee Foundation is intended to meet the unique requirements of young girls and women living in underserved areas. We acknowledge that a lot of girls experience a lot of difficulties during their periods, which frequently causes them to skip class, withdraw from their peers, or even put themselves at danger for damaging customs like Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).
Through this program, we aim to:
1. Provide Menstrual Care Essentials:
The Ggee Foundation can provide one girl with a month’s worth of menstrual care necessities for every 40 dollars donated. Four packets of premium sanitary towels and comfotable, hygienic underpants are included in each care box. These necessities help ladies feel more confident and comfortable throughout their periods while also ensuring adequate menstrual hygiene.
2. Promote Uninterrupted Education:
By providing girls with menstruation care, we make it possible for them to continue their education without interruption for the duration of the month. Girls can attend school regularly, participate actively in class, and achieve their academic potential when they have access to sanitary products.
3. Prevent Female Genital Mutilation (FGM):
Girls may be more susceptible to FGM if they lack access to menstruation care. Girls who skip school while having their period run the risk of being targeted by this destructive practice. By providing necessities for period care, we lower the possibility of FGM and safeguard girls’ physical and mental health.
4. Encourage Gender Equality:
The goal of our menstruation care program is to encourage gender equality. By providing girls with necessary menstrual care, we promote a society in which their needs and rights are upheld and they are given equal access to opportunity.
Your Support Matters:
The Ggee Foundation depends on the kind contributions of people and organizations to promote change. With your donation of only $40, you can give one girl the essentials for menstrual care, enabling her to continue her education, achieve her goals, and escape the cycle of poverty and discrimination.
Join us as we empower girls through menstruation care and change their lives for the better. Together, we can build a more just society where every girl has the opportunity to realize her full potential and advance her neighborhood and beyond.
